This may seem like a very specific use case at first glance, but it does mean that any photographers using Darktable (which is among the most popular raw processing suites for Linux) will move away from EoG to view their JPGs. No other image processing programs seem to write JPGs the same way as Darktable, nor do any other viewers seem to mind Darktable's JPGs.ĥ. It seems Darktable writes JPGs in a way that EoG is not compatible with. Reference: Darktable- PNG-Gimp- JPG.jpg was created following repro steps 6-10 and can be used for easy comparison. Gimp or Phatch, the resulting JPG will display properly in EoG (repro steps 6-10). When converting that PNG to JPG with e.g. Allow Upscaling: If your size exceeds the original dimensions of the image, set this to yes to improve the exported files quality. You can set the width (first box) to say 400px, and darktable will auto adjust the height. When exporting from Darktable to PNG, the PNG displays properly in EoG.ģ. Includes options for pixels, centimeters, inches, or by scale. Darktable-JPG.jpg was exported straight from Darktable. Chrome, Firefox, Gimp, GThumb.ĮoG should display JPGs exported from Darktable with correct colours.ġ.
